Ladies' dress c.1834. Dresses of the 1830's were often made from cotton printed with attractive floral designs. Skirts were worn just above the ankle at ballerina length and dresses had enormous "gigot" sleeves.

Woman's dress consisting of bodice and skirt in blue silk brocade with woven floral design which shines orange in some lights. c.1868=1870. This dress was worn by Mary Ann Seebohm who lived at the Hermitage in Bancroft, Hitchin.
